Art Print: Interstellar Badlands II

"Interstellar Badlands II" is a new release and art print from the "Surreal Alberta" series I've been creating. As a continued cosmic variation on the badlands landscape, this latest digital creation takes inspiration from a shoot in Dinosaur Provincial Park

Art Print: Interstellar Badlands

"Interstellar Badlands" is another new art print in a series of surreal scenes I've been creating. At the moment I'm experimenting with a handful of Alberta-centric scenes based off of elements from my professional travel photography around the province. The base of this latest addition comes from a sunset captured in Dinosaur Provincial Park.

Expanding the Around Alberta Series

Since 2014 the Around Alberta travel photography series has grown by leaps and bounds. From the Rockies to the prairies to the cities, this series has thrived on capturing iconic visuals from around my home province. Of course, a big part of the equation has also been about finding the right timing, a specific style, and highlighting ways to link a lot of unique locations together.

Alberta Travel Photographer2020 will hopefully be the biggest year yet for the Around Alberta series. With most of the older photo sets seeing updates and thousands of new additions in the pipeline, I'm hopeful that the new year will present more opportunities for collaboration and showcasing parts of Alberta that don't necessarily get the attention they deserve.

You'll already find lots of Alberta content to explore on Editing Luke, however if you're curious about the existing material, want to recommend a spot, or want to discuss an idea - by all means, you can reach me here. Expect some really exciting additions to the collection in 2020!

Spirit of the Canadian Badlands Campaign

As someone who has spent a lot of time capturing, documenting, and sharing iconic visuals all over Alberta, the Canadian Badlands have been a particularly special place to explore for as long as I can remember. Having grown up here, it was a privilege to be part of a travel campaign that allowed me to rediscover, film, photograph, and ultimately showcase some of the amazing people and places of this vast and diverse region.

Spirit of the Canadian Badlands Alberta

After two weeks of filming throughout the Canadian Badlands last summer, accompanied by actor Tom Jackson and a handful of other talented creators, I was tasked with creating a series of vignettes and an overall promotional showcase of the experience we had in the Badlands.

What was so great about this project was that we weren't setting out to stage a commercial, but instead allowed the experiences we were having to dictate the direction of the finished work. As a result, the videos are comprised of numerous candid clips and raw moments that were captured while in the midst of meeting new people and being thrown into new experiences.

Canadian Badlands Alberta Travel PhotographerI think we all have our own definitions / explanations of what we think the 'Spirit of the Canadian Badlands' really is - particularly if like me, you've been surrounded by it for most of your life. Sometimes it just takes a fresh set of eyes to remind us of how amazing our little corner of the planet really is. Explore more of my work around Alberta here.
