For as relatively close as Montana is to Alberta you might expect that I'd already thoroughly explored this state. The truth is that while I've visited Montana numerous times, it's almost always been while on route to somewhere else. I finally decided it was time to do something about that and spent the last few days travel shooting on a road trip to the state capitol.
Following part of the Lewis and Clark Trail, I was motivated to explore Fort Benton, Great Falls, and Helena in more detail. I was already familiar with how incredibly scenic the drive along the Missouri River was, but by taking my time and making multiple stops along the way it felt like a completely new experience. There are some really cool photo sets of Montana on the way that I look forward to sharing - some a bit more ridiculous than others.

Bayou Haven Bed & Breakfast in Louisiana
From the moment I drove through the gates, saw the lights on the trees, and walked up the long staircase to the front door, I was in awe of this place. This was my introduction to Bayou Haven, an upscale bed & breakfast in Slidell, Louisiana with a distinctly southern charm.
Located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, just 30 minutes from New Orleans, this newly built property expertly combines the elegance and character of a historic plantation house with the tranquility and beauty of the Louisiana bayou. Featuring seven unique suites, Bayou Haven became my home away from home for a few days while I explored the surrounding area.
There was something pretty special about coming back here after a long day to hang out by the dock and catch the sunset over the bayou. Outside of the excitement of New Orleans, this place seemed to capture the essence of what I'd hoped Louisiana would be like. I can't recommend Bayou Haven highly enough as an ideal destination for your next Louisiana escape.
