Los Angeles City Hall Observation Deck

Completed in 1928, Los Angeles City Hall still serves as the center of local government for the city of Los Angeles. Often referred to as the first high-rise in southern California, Los Angeles City Hall was the tallest building in the city until 1964 due to a charter that kept any other tower from exceeding 150 ft. and surpassing it in height. 

I made my way up to the observation deck, also known as the Tom Bradley Room, on the 27th floor to take in the views and capture a few shots for my Roadside California series. The entire floor features a large meeting space with high ceilings and an exterior wraparound walkway that allows for 360 degree views of the surrounding area. If the history and architecture weren't enough, the views topped off another incredible Los Angeles experience.

On the Road in Kananaskis Country

Crisp cool air, stunning mountain vistas, and an unforgettable drive highlighted my time in Kananaskis Country. Scenes like this are iconic of the Alberta Rockies, and I was eager to capture a small slice of this epic landscape as my adventure through the mountains unfolded.

Edit Suite 3.0

With each new version of edit suite I build the options get a bit more varied, the equipment gets a bit better, and the experience gets unnecessarily more complicated. After this latest round of upgrades the Editing Luke edit suite is pretty much everything I would've dreamed of and more as a film student - however, now a decade into growing my production company and brand, I've accepted the reality that the upgrades are constant, never-ending, and essential.

Some of my favourite changes this time around have been largely cosmetic. New monitors, including a 40" wall mounted preview screen, are welcome additions as the campaigns, documentaries, and projects I've taken on this year have become more in-depth. Technically speaking, without giving much away, I'm feeling well equipped to tackle the multiple video projects I'm working on into the fall.
