Chinatown in Portland, Oregon

Our hotel in Portland was right near Burnside and Chinatown, so it was only natural that we'd do a bit of wandering there. Chinatown wasn't huge, but there were some cool visuals that caught our eye. These were some of my shots as we made our way to the Lan Su Chinese Garden.

The best stories start with a road trip. True story.

World's Largest Truck - Sparwood, BC

We cut through the corner of British Columbia on our drive south and had to make the popular stop at the World's Largest Truck in Sparwood. If this giant mining truck wasn't memorable enough, we were entertained by an old guy in a rascal scooter who told us about driving one of these trucks, talked about driving his scooter on the highway, and his issues with the government and RCMP. All part and parcel of the roadside attraction experience I suppose.

Octopus Tree at Cape Meares in Oregon

To complete our exploration of Cape Meares in Oregon, we stopped to look at the Octopus Tree. The reason the limbs of the tree have grown like this is a mystery, but it was another unique roadside attraction to see on our road trip up the coast.
