Behind only the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library is the second largest public library in the United States. The Main Branch, located on Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, is an iconic structure that was made even more popular by blockbusters like Ghostbusters and The Day After Tomorrow. After more than two centuries in operation and millions of visitors, the New York Public Library system is one of New York's most revered institutions. This flagship building, which opened in 1911, was officially declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.

Library of Parliament in Ottawa, Ontario
Constructed in 1876, the Library of Parliament in Ottawa, Ontario is the oldest and only original portion of Canada's Parliament Buildings after a fire in 1916 destroyed the Centre Block and required Parliament Hill to be rebuilt. This iconic structure and library is the main information repository for the Parliament of Canada, and is notably featured on the Canadian $10 bill.

Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland
As one of the most popular attractions in the entire park, Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland is a one of a kind ride found only in Japan. What makes it unique is its trackless ride system that has guests speeding around the Hundred Acre Wood in an untethered, but choreographed honey pot. Pooh's Honey Hunt also resulted in one of my favourite souvenir finds at Tokyo Disneyland, a giant plush Pooh head. Can you spot me in the crowd?

Historic News Block in Medicine Hat, Alberta
Constructed in 1903, the News Block derives its name from originally housing the newspaper offices of the Medicine Hat News on 2nd Street in downtown Medicine Hat, Alberta. The newspaper was only here for a decade before it moved to a new building in 1914, a now demolished structure located where the current city hall stands. This 2nd Street space has recently been occupied by the new secondhand bookstore, The Page and Whisker.
I first photographed the News Block as an abandoned location back in 2013 for my hometown exploration series, Around the Hat. At the time there were still traces of the former tenant, Tramps Comics & Games, despite the News Block having already been vacant for more than a decade back in 2013. The Page and Whisker is the first business in years to not just move in, but to also bring some new character to this unique downtown space.
Here are few new images I captured of the News Block / Page and Whisker to contrast against the remnants of the former abandoned Tramps space that I was originally introduced to. Expanding on the success of my documentary short, On 2nd I'm pleased to see the story of 2nd street continuing to evolve. I wish Page and Whisker all the best in this beautiful historic location.
