Constructed in 1718, the Alamo Mission (or simply, The Alamo) began its life as a Spanish mission before becoming a place of legend after it was besieged in the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Located in San Antonio, Texas the iconic chapel is known as the "Shrine of Texas Liberty". The Alamo has long since become a popular museum, with this Texas landmark (and the other nearby San Antonio missions) being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.

And then of course, there's this iconic 'Alamo basement' scene from Pee Wee's Big Adventure (which up to this point had provided most of my knowledge of the Alamo lol).
