Last Friday my video short, Art Casual debuted on the front lawn of the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre as part of their Alberta Culture Days line up. The giant Park After Dark screen played host to my project, followed by shorts created by students of the Medicine Hat College.
In addition to saying a few words to introduce my video, I had a blast getting to speak one on one with lots of familiar faces and artists. I was even surprised to bump into a number of people who had been following my work on Editing Luke and who approached me to introduce themselves - I love when that happens!
All and all it was a pretty casual affair, but it was a lot of fun and certainly something out of the ordinary. The video went over really well too, and after uploading it this week, Art Casual has already received several thousand hits. I also have to take the opportunity to give another big shout out to all of the students who participated in the video, and to the Esplanade for making it possible. It was a great experience all around and such a pleasure to be asked to collaborate! Here are a few shots I took for the Esplanade that evening.
