Heritage Park in Calgary, Alberta

It had probably been roughly 15 years since my last visit to Heritage Park, so you can imagine how curious I was to see what (if anything) was familiar to me after all that time. My friend Andrea and I took a day trip to the park several weeks ago, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much the park had grown.

From the relatively new Gasoline Alley, to rides on the paddlewheeler and steam train, we had a lot of fun casually exploring. As I've gotten older, it's been really enjoyable to learn more about the history in my corner of the world. Places like Heritage Park make it pretty easy to immerse yourself in it. From vintage fairground rides and museum displays to turn of the century homes and horse drawn carriages, there's surprisingly a lot to see and do. It's well worth the visit if you're ever in Calgary.

Andrea was convinced there was a ghost in the Prince House.

No ghost here, but sufficiently creepy.
