Since last year at this time when these things started debuting on Saturday Night Live i've been hooked. The SNL Digital Shorts are essentially just short videos filmed and edited with basic consumer equipment . . . and they're hilarious. You've probably seen a bunch of them even if you don't watch SNL. They've been popping up on websites, in email inboxes, and to add some credibility to the mix, Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake just won an emmy for collaborating on the short 'Dick in a Box' (which has received over 27 million views on youtube). Sure they're all ridiculous, but the low-tech approach is just another example of how successful the youtube style can be. A clever concept and a basic camera can do wonders these days . . . and i mean this in regards to talent, not Chris Crocker exploits. Simply, I find the SNL Digital Shorts motivating and inspiring in their ridiculousness. Enjoy.Dick in a Box
